The first performance took place on March 25, 2003 in New York City (Composer Portraits Series-Miller Theatre) and it featured the Absolute Ensemble conducted by Kristjan Järvi. The soloists were Joseph Kalichstein, piano and Anne Akiko Meyers, violin.
